Definition of: AnnexationEdit
Upon invasion of a city state, country or nation and when successful, annexation occurs through imperialistic means to merge that state with the successing state, this can happen through compromise or violent means. Through violent means annexation always creates a reaction of many nationalists and natives of the annexed country in which resistance occurs and uproar. A country or state that is being annexed is found to be usually weaker than the successor. An example of compromise annexation is Anschluss of Germany and Austria during the Nazi period which was a creation of a marriage between the two states.
